Local help
Blue screen or computer will not boot?
Take a breath. Most blue screens can be fixed, and your files are often still there.
Try this first
- Write down or photograph the stop code on the blue screen, like CRITICAL PROCESS DIED.
- Unplug everything but the power, such as USB drives and printers. Restart.
- If it keeps happening, let Windows try Startup Repair from the recovery menu.
- If a Windows update came just before the trouble, the recovery menu can remove the newest update.
What not to do
- Do not choose reset until your files are saved
- Do not keep forcing the power button over and over
- Do not pay a stranger on the phone who says they can fix it remotely
Why it happens
Bad updates, a failing drive, faulty memory or a driver gone wrong. A drive that is dying needs quick action, because every restart can make it worse.
When to call us
If those steps do not help, call. We save your files first, then find the cause. That may mean a Windows repair and reinstall, a new drive from upgrades, or a memory swap. Then you can have your files moved to a fresh start, or a new computer.
